Yes, I know. I've been pretty terrible with posting new "Tall Tales of Travel" lately, but I've been working on it.
And wa-la! So really, you should be thanking me. It's not everyday I can work magic like this.
Anyways, our trip to Costa Rica (here and here) was one of the most inspiring, beautiful, fascinating, and exciting trips I've ever been on. In fact, the first post I ever wrote for this blog was about Lapa Rios Ecolodge in Costa Rica. So imagine my utter shock when I realized I had yet to write a post on our incredible zip-lining experience in Malpais, Costa Rica. I could hardly resist, and set about getting together a Zip-lining in Costa Rica post immediately. So here it is!
Zip-lining had been at the top of my list for things to do in Costa Rica since day one. Every single day of our trip, my brother (equally excited at the prospect of zip-lining in Costa Rica) and I begged and pleaded with our parents to go. They assured us that yes, we would get our zip-lining done, and no, we couldn't have another watermelon smoothie. The day of, we were nearly leaping out of our seats, we were so ecstatic (and enthusiastic) to finally be able to experience zip-lining in all its glory. We weren't disappointed.
Zip-lining in Costa Rica was everything we could have hoped for. The exhilarating feeling of whooshing through the jungle, surrounded by wildlife, merged together with the thrill of standing among the treetops and being faced with one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen... it simply can't be beaten. Although there are literally dozens of other zip-lining tours in Costa Rica to select from, we loved the Malpais one because of the convenient location (close to the popular surfing town of Santa Teresa), the incredible views and scenery, the helpful instruction of the guides, and the zip-lines themselves, which were a perfect length and placed quintessentially so that they took us right through (and sometimes, above) the canopy of trees. I'd highly recommend (as would the rest of my family) zip-lining in Costa Rica for all and any family, for a number of reasons. But I don't think I have to reiterate - my gushing about zip-lining in Costa Rica being one of the most entirely thrilling and incredible things I've ever done should be enough proof.
A little bit about this...
All trips have their share of funny stories. We decided it would be fun to recall these laugh-out-loud moments right here, on this page.
